What unique qualifications do I bring to the task?

• I have been a professional independent editor for over twenty-five years.
• I have worked with teen writers for over 30 years, helping them to find and express their authentic voices in all forms of creative writing through my roles as Founding Director of the Young Artists and Writers Project at Stony Brook University, and prior to that as Director of Education and Programming for Young Audiences at Bay Street Theater.
• I have written and published over 30 books for children and young adults.
• I have counseled hundreds of students in essay writing, and edited scores of essays for high school students and undergraduates.
• I am the parent of two young adult children, both of whom were accepted into the colleges of their dreams.
• I am passionate about working with young people, helping them tap into their own authentic voices and inspiring them to achieve great things.
